Advisory: Solobay to Co-Host Energy Forum for Educators
On October 9, 2012
HARRISBURG, Oct. 9, 2011 – State Sen. Tim Solobay, along with the Beaver County legislative delegation and the Beaver County Commissioners, will host a “Youth Energy Forum for Educators” at the Beaver County Career and Technology Center this Thursday.
The forum is intended to bring together local educators and representatives of the mining, oil and gas industries to discuss ways to prepare students for jobs in the growing energy field.
The group will discuss new high school programs geared to prepare students for some of the opportunities available in the energy field. Educators will learn more about these positions, what training and experience are required to qualify for them, and how to identify the employers and apply for the jobs.
The program will run from 9 a.m. until about 1:30 p.m. Your coverage is invited.
